Weather update

WEll we got some more rain.However some of the farmers did get some corn planted.The seed corn sales people are really pushing their seed.I have heard of ,buy a sack of seed,and we will give you a sack free. I can understand that they do not want to carry the seed over,plus there may not be enough soybean seed to plant everything,if the farmers do not plant corn.However there is a lot of interest in rice,since it has gone up in Price.
If you were to have some rice in the Bin carried over from last year,it will bring ten dollars a bushel,if you can find someone to buy it.However Riceland,and some of the other big rice companies will not quote a bid for rice,old,or new.Interesting
It is going to be interesting to see what the farmers are going to plant.I know what the ones who have obligations to cotton gins are going to plant.The rest I am not for sure.Goose
