The Economy

As you all are aware,the economy is worsening,and there seems to be no relief in sight.Two of the automakers need immediate relief.Noranda Aluminum who is the biggest employer in the county,is laying off,and giving employees early retirement.Most of the people who are getting let go now, are salaried employees,and not memberes of the union.One union member I know,told me how much Noranda is losing on every ton of aluminum made,and they can not afford to do that very long.One line is already shut down,and unless things improve,there will be more layoffs.
I worked at dispatching for three days,and drive offs at gas pumps are picking up,as well as shoplifters.People who are getting laid off,are filing for unemployment,and Missouri is taking six to eight weeks to get the first check out to them.Gonna be a tough Christmas for people who had no savings.
I am afraid that the Auto Dealers are next,they cannot keep going without selling vehicles.Goose
