The hunt took place three weeks ago, and was a two-day hunt involving Friday and Saturday, according to Chandler.
On the Friday hunt, the group of seven hunters including Chandler, David Earl Christian, Mike Deets, Joel Jones, Jason Chandler, Dr. Tom Jones of New Albany, Ind. and Zeoller, were able to come home with a total of 34 ducks. The hunt took place on the St. Francis River and was considered a success, according to Chandler.
"We had a real good hunt and he [Zoeller] will be coming back the last week if we still have water," Chandler said.
This is the first year that Zoeller has been able to make the duck hunting trip, because he had to miss last year due to the weather. This year the weather was good and Zoeller stayed in Kennett for the weekend.
"On Saturday night we went out to Strawberry's in Holcomb, Mo., and people recognized him [Zoeller], it took us 40 minutes to get out of the restaurant," Chandler said.
Zoeller is a regular duck hunter in his town of New Albany, Ind., hunting on the Ohio River.
Tom Jones, who made the trip with Zeoller, became sick causing the two to have to leave early on Sunday.
