Dear Family & Friends,
Daniel received his last chemo treatment last weekend, May 1 & 2. (PTL) The doctor
didn't have to do any more laser treatment on his eye. He showed us pictures
early on of the tumor. He showed us the beginning pictures again and the pictures of
May 1 and you could really see the difference. There is no life left in the tumor but
it will remain on the retina as scare tissue causing some loss of vision. But, I'm
expecting there to be very minimal loss!
He will have to go back every 3 to 4 weeks for several months and go under
anesthesia for the doctor to do a thorough exam of the eye. Sometimes the chemo
suppresses other tumors from coming out until the chemo is finished. Since this
was not an inherited gene, they don't think this will be the case with Daniel. After
several months, the exams will be spread out to 6 months then yearly until he is
5 or 6 years of age.
Today, May11th, his blood counts are extremely low; please pray for the counts to
come back within the normal range.
Don't forget us, the next few months are critical, so keep him in your prayers.
'Papa' Ken
